Adobe Annouce New Versions of Photoshop
On March 8th Adobe Unveiled Plans for Two Editions of Photoshop CS3.
Adobe will expand its digital imaging product line, offering two editions of Adobe Photoshop CS3. In addition to a new version of Photoshop for designers and professional photographers, Adobe will also offer Photoshop CS3 Extended, a completely new edition of Photoshop which caters cross-media creative professionals. Photoshop CS3 Extended includes everything in Photoshop CS3 plus a new set of instructions for integration of 3-D and motion graphics, image measurement and analysis.
The official launch date for both products is March 27, 2007 as part of the company's launch of Creative Suite 3. The software is expected to ship in Spring 2007. Version will available for the Macintosh platform as well as for Microsoft Windows XP and Windows Vista.
Where the new product will slot in alongside After Effects will be interesting. My interpretation of the announcement suggests that there will be a fair bit of overlap. Another interesting fact is the incorporation of 3D into Photoshop. Hopefully it will be integrate with other 3D products such as Bryce, Vue d'Esprit and Poser. I guess it is a question of wait and see.
